The way sunflowers grow and twist in a dance towards the sun fascinates me. This piece was originally regular sunflowers but life inspired me to revamp into a sunflower celebration of sisterhood. We must look out for other women and be tender with the ones we hold most dear.

The Divi Divi trees on the white sand beaches of Aruba inspired this piece. The way the trunk curls and winds around itself is amazing. It's strength and persistence to stands in the strongest of winds. Such a magical tree in a magical place. I fell in love with Aruba as soon as I saw the color of the water.

The sound of the ocean, the warmth of the sun, soft white sand between your toes & sun kissed skin are part of why I love tropical islands. The clouds look happy and fluffy in the bright blue sky. I feel like I'm on cloud nine and in Just Exhale, the cloud is exhaling too.

The Dutch Tulips were painted after my travels to the Netherlands in 2010. I'd gone for a month to teach dance classes & workshops. I met up with family, traveled all over & made lifelong friends in that time. This painting is inspired from my time there. Orange is a Dutch color and Holland is known for its tulip festivals. I spent New Years Eve in Amsterdam and it was wild. lol. All the yellow & blue streaks are representative of the fireworks that night.

The second canvas of Dutch Tulips, as well as the first, were flowers until 2020. I'd sold the piece and before delivery I wanted to make sure the canvases were cleaned up & ready for being hung up. I ended up revamping the colors and turning the Tulips into curvy women. The buyer was very happy with the art-justments.

This piece was inspired by sixteen years living in the San Francisco Bay Area. The beautiful colors of fall reflected over the Bay's waters as the crisp morning air whips across it. The Bay Area is an amazing place. I called it home for many years and in awe of my time there.
