A portrait of a loved one is art from the heart

Who would you get a portrait done of?

eracism

29" x 23" Colored Pencil on Paper

My original idea behind creating Eracism was to have a diversity of subjects together, some in color and some in black & white. This is the centerpiece and was intended to be surrounded by solo portraits of each of the eight subjects. These solo portraits would be either in color or black and white and the opposite of what they are with the group.

SOLD

Bob marley

16" x 22" Graphite Pencil on Paper

Commissioned drawing of Bob Marley smiling. The buyer wanted this image of Bob to display in his home. The buyer was a regular when I used to bartend in Chula Vista California in my early 20s.

I thought the price of $420 was clever. lol.

SOLD

looking back

15" x 20" Graphite Pencil on Paper

I'd seen the image of this man in an old book on the atrocities of slavery in the United States of America. This man looked back one last time at the plantation where he'd been a slave his entire life. He walked away with almost nothing except his biggest asset, his freedom. This is the last look back before he continued his life as a free black man.

SOLD

Boy wonder

17" x 23" Ink on Paper

Boy wonder was a project assigned to Art Students at California State University Long Beach in the late 90's. We were tasked to create an interesting picture with dots only. My wrist was definitely sore from all the dots in this piece. This Boy is connected with the universe and all people around him as we all are. This is the visual of the concept.

SOLD

piata

30" x 24" Acrylic on Canvas

The Piata painting was inspired by Michelangelo's famous statue of the Piata sculpture. A group of nuns commissioned this painting for their alter for their convent in Venta, Oregon. This image of the painting has a white background and is done in deep tones leaving the ethnicity of Jesus & Mary open to interpretation.

SOLD

piata with marble

30" x 24" Acrylic on Canvas

The background of The Piata with Marble was painted to match the alter where it would be displayed at. Matching the marble to the rest of the alter allowed this painting to seamlessly blend into it. Almost as if it had always been there in this beautiful and holy place of worship.

SOLD

don carlos

15" x 17.5" Graphite Pencil on Paper

Hand drawn image of the great Don Carlos, a legendary reggae singer with a career that spans decades. I was fortunate to have been friends with Don Carlos and he absolutely loved this drawing of himself. He signed the original artwork to me and I will never part with it. It's priceless to me.

moving forward

18" x 24" Graphite Pencil on Paper

Moving Forward is look at the people we surround ourselves with and the realization that some relationships don't serve us any more. The older you get the more you realize what advice you will and won't take, the way you allow yourself to be treated & who you have to leave behind. Some people mean everything to you for a period of time, once that time is done you must move on and move forward.

MAC DRE

14" x 17" ACRYLIC on a 5x White T-SHIRT

Mac Dre was painted for Wash House Music Company for their artist to perform in. This SF Bay Area legend was an iconic rapper that died too early. He left a huge mark on hip hop and the Bay Area.

SOLD

the eyes

14" x 17" Pencils on Paper

The Eyes was drawn in black & white except for the brilliant colors of green of her irises. This woman's image was taken from a 90's magazine my Mother had laying around and was originally in full color.

SOLD

consterpated

8" x 12" Graphite Pencil on Paper

This chunky baby was drawn to be put in the bathroom opposite of the toilet. Sometimes we have deep concentration and thoughts as we are constipated in our "office". This was done at a time before squatty potties and playing with phones while doing our business. LOL.

SOLD

LEAH

8" x 12"

Painting of a sweet Corgi named Leah. Her sweet face will now always lovingly gaze upon her family. Our pets are part of the family & a portrait of your beloved friend will always give you solace even if they aren't there here more.

What now

10" x 8" Oil on Wood

What now was painted in 1995 and was my first experience working with oil paints. Done in the advanced art class at Mount Carmel High School.

SOLD

Nea

10" x 20" Acrylic on Canvas

This painting is of the dog Nea and her owner. This was a commissioned piece as a remembrance of Nea after her untimely passing. Do you have a fuzzy friend you'd like to memorialize with art?

SOLD

the beatles

4' x 4' Acrylic on Four Canvases

This painting of the Beatles was commissioned by the music company Wash House Music for their studio in Oahu, Hawaii. When the four canvases are together the total size is eight feet by eight feet. The more you spread them apart, the larger the Beatles becomes.

SOLD

Revlon girl

16" x 22" Ink on Papaer

Revlon Girl was inspired by an 80's magazine. In an ad for Revlon beauty products was this model with a unique look. She reminded me of Pat Benatar & I thought she was a perfect subject for a project on dots and lines in black & white.

$400- ORIGINAL ART- only one available

I see you

12" x 12"

Visiting Loas Angeles California in the late 90's, I found this interesting Vidal Sassoon postcard with a picture of this image. I loved how their hair looked and the chemistry the two shared. It celebrates that women are beautiful no matter what their hair style.
